Barley Fields

Barley FieldsAt an altitude of about 3,600 meters in the upper Salween Valley, barley sprouts in June and is harvested in September. These non-terraced fields coat hillsides in the rain-shadow of the Nyainchentanglha mini-range and indicate that this vicinity sees little erosion.
