From 2010-2013, Future Generations Rural America trained over 170 local computer mentors to offer broadband and computer training, as well as a range of customized and tailored classes, to the residents of 37 counties across West Virginia.

This eight-page booklet features the stories of computer mentors. These passionate voices tell true stories of how Broadband access has made a difference in the lives of the mentors that manage the centers, as well as the patrons that they help educate to use computers and high-speed Internet.

Jacob Burns Film Center Hosts Media Training for WV Computer Mentors

During a two-day training workshop hosted by the New-York based Jacob Burns Film Center, 26 computer mentors from 21 fire and rescue stations across West Virginia learned how to create captivating videos to tell the stories of their communities. Held in Charleston, the media empowerment training focused on digital storytelling, video creation, and photography lessons.
