Fire Destroys Haiti Communitere Workshop: Support our Partners in Rebuilding Back Better

On May 3rd, a massive fire destroyed the Haiti Communitere workshop, a Future Generations Haiti partner formerly known as Grassroots United. The community used this space to come together and learn different skills, share ideas, and study sustainability. Now, the community and Haiti Communitere are working to expand on their successes to build back better than before.

Roots of Change in Haiti Blog features Cyborgs Break Dancing Against Violence

You might be surprised to know that Cite Soleil, Haiti’s most notorious slum, is home to a troop of cyborgs who have tirelessly break danced against violence for the past eight years. This all-male group of ten ‘breakers’ by the name of Cyborg Dance came together in 2004, in the epicenter of the crisis resulting from the crumbling of Father Jean-Bertrand Aristide’s government, his kidnapping and forced exile by U.S. Marines.
