Future Generations formalized its education programs in 2003 by offering a Master's of Arts Degree Program in Applied Community Change and Conservation. The first class of 17 students are community development practitioners from 12 countries:
The Master of Arts in Applied Community Change and Conservation is a two-year course of study designed for students wishing to develop skills in facilitating, teaching and leading equitable and sustainable community change. The Master's Degree is taught through a blended learning approach that combines classroom and distance learning with practice. Experiential learning occus at four global field sites, currently China, India, Peru and the United States. This is complemented by a comprehensive distance learning curriculum and applied community applications. Students and their associated communities learn from global experience and application. Through case studies, research and application, students contribute to an evolving knowledge base of community change. |
