Afghanistan Community Sites
The Hazara people of the high plateau of central Afghanistan are an ethnic minority that represents about 35%of the population. These communities have endured over twenty years of war and six years of crippling drought, but it is this endurance that now builds hope, providing the foundation for meeting Afghanistan's greatest needs: self-reliant communities. Future Generations Afghanistan works as an outside-in partner to engage communities of three provinces in a process of community-based change. Communities are working together, making work plans, and implementing their own projects to improve education, health, agriculture and income generation opportunities.
