About Us
In 1992, Future Generations was established in pursuit of just and lasting change at the community level with a clear target of bringing local successes to meaningful scale. The organization advances a process, known as Seed-Scale, which mobilizes the energy of people for self-reliant social development in partnership with government. The organization demonstrates this process in four countries: Afghanistan, China, India, and Peru. To learn from these experiences and those of other organizations, an ongoing research initiative reviews the global evidence base. And since 2003, Future Generations has offered a Master’s Degree in Applied Community Change and Conservation to help produce a new generation of leading professionals in community development around the world. Future Generations international headquarters are located on North Mountain in Pendleton County, West Virginia. Future Generations works closely with communities, organizational affiliates and governments worldwide.
