Voices of Future Generations

Some children are full of energy, ideas and questions, others are more quiet, observing the world around them, but all children have stories to tell, stories that when presented together create a global portrait of the world's diversity, vitality and interconnectedness.

Future Generations has developed a three-minute radio program that gives voice to these stories. Working with two award-winning radio producers from Canada and international journalists, Future Generations has gathered stories from children around the world and has now produced 60 demonstration programs ready for broadcast.

The stories children tell often describe the good deeds they have done or witnessed. One child from South Africa describes in vivid child like detail how his entire community worked together on weekends to build a new school. Another girl speaks of how she helps her mother prepare for chemotherapy treatment each month. These personal and community acts to make the world a better place encourage listeners who seek positive change in their own communities.

Here are three sample programs. (Click on the Link to Listen to these Audio Files through a multimedia player. To download a free copy of Real Player, visit the website, www.real.com.)

Robert Rauschenberg, Tibet

This limited edition print and poster by Robert Rauschenberg has a complex and rich history. This was a direct result of Rauschenberg's unique 1985 globe-girdling tour, the celebrated Rauschenberg Overseas Cultural Interchange, which ultimately took the artist to eleven countries plus Tibet, a kaleidoscopic creative journey through diverse images and materials that continues to resonate today, in Rauschenberg's own art as well as our appreciation of it. Rauschenberg combined on-artist shows with an ongoing quest for visual material in all the countries he visited in 1985, but no region impressed him as much as Tibet, this high, remote land, utterly unlike any other corner of the globe.

The sale of this poster and print exclusively supports Future Generations' sustainable development and conservation programs in Tibet.

Each museum quality poster sells for $30. The Signed Limited Edition print sells for $3500. A percentage of the print is tax deductible.
