Toward a Better Future in Afghanistan: An Investigation into the Central Council of Shahidan in Bamyan Province

This case study provides an overview of the history of the village councils, known as shuras, of Shahidan valley in Afghanistan’s Bamyan province with a special focus on the process of training and involving ex-combatants in local governance and community development projects.
