This paper examines the communal forest conservation and private plantation practices of the Apatani people of Arunachal Pradesh.  It then questions what makes the Apatani situation different.  Upon reading, discover reasons behind the people's practie of growing and planting trees and their passion for pine and bamboo plantations.
